Worship

Church is not the only place of worship. The whole world is our cathedral.

LITTLE PRAYER

Forgive me, Lord, these altars I’ve built.

LITTLE HOMILY

Perhaps the command to not let the fire of the Lord’s altar go out is a warning to not tend to too many fires on too many altars. Like the ancient Israelites we are surrounded by countless gods, gods woven into our imaginations making them difficult to recognize them for what they are, unable to call evil evil and good good. And like the ancient Israelites we build altars to these gods and set alight sacrifices upon them. But hear, my friends, the Lord our God is one and we must worship him only.
